Meeting Date: 2021-09-13 at the Anglican Church Hall.
President Jeff opened the meeting at 6:30 pm. After the two national anthems, grace, and dinner, plus thanking the ACW for the dinner, Jeff started the meeting.
Program: This was a business meeting.
1. Jeff: Policy guide for disbursement of funds.
- Treasurer Reinout gave a quick review of our funds.
- We now guarantee 14 members for supper.
- M/S Jeff/Paul: That Reinout continues to collect quarterly dues. CARRIED
- M/S Reinout/Jeff That the 2021-22 budget be accepted. CARRIED.
2. Kees: Update on possible Tree Project participation.
- Kees is waiting for an answer from Councillor Wright re this project.
- We will go together with the Hort. Society, 60 trees each. Estimated $1200.
- We will get the trees from the LTVCA.
3. Jeff/Ron: Update on Pints for Polio
- Ron (Music confirmation) Dan Davidson & Allison Storey.
- Ron has written confirmation from C-K that we can have music if the host business agrees and the Sons of Kent is in agreement.
- Performers must sit at least 2 m from the audience.
4. Kees: Schedule date for Main St. Corn Stalk Decorations.
- Friday, 2021-10-01, at 9:00, am at the same farm as last year.
- Kees has the hatches for cutting the stalks.
5. Jeff: Options for Upcoming Speakers.
- Jeff hopes that Bob will arrange for the scout leaders for the Sept. 27th meeting.
- Jeff reminded us to give serious consideration to getting speakers.
6. Jeff: October 18th Meeting.
- 11th Pints for Polio in Chatham will substitute for the meeting currently scheduled for 18th.
- The meeting will be Wednesday, October 13th, with all c-K clubs taking part.
- There will be food available for purchase and of course the special Polio Plus beer.
7. Kees: Update on various Palliative care equipment items.
- Bob is getting prices on new wheelchairs/walkers.
- The storage area needs a definite cleaning and sorting. Several members volunteered.
- We have received about $2000 in donations over the past month.
8. Jeff: Possibly 8 Cars from Kent Historic Auto for Saturday, Oct 2nd 11-4.
- Kees is investigating this to confirm.
9. Jeff: Movement of Crocus sign at Farmer’s Market.
- The sign that is on the fence outside the Farmers Market.
- It was suggested that we could set up a Rotary table at the East Kent Fall Festival on Oct. 2/21.
- Several members volunteered.
- Henny reminded us to sell our 5 bags of crocuses. To date, 48 bags sold, 52 left.
Committees:
1. Paul: Road Clean-up.
- 2021-09-27 at 4:00 pm, starting at the Arena, ie Monday before our next meeting.
- He will send out a reminder, with an RSVP. Not enough will mean it is cancelled.
2. Paul: RYLA for this fall is cancelled.
3. Paul: Library books.
- This is our biannual year to purchase books for RDHS, HRPS, St. M and the town library.
- Members will sign the 2019-21 book labels at the next meeting.
Other Business:
1. Jeff: The DG will make a visit whenever COVID 19 restrictions allow.
2. Henny will have our 2021-22 pins shortly as well as a new banner.
