Meeting Date: Mar. 17, 2025 at the Anglican Parish Hall. After a wonderful turkey dinner prepared by the ACW, Kees started the meeting by thanking the ladies in the kitchen.
Correspondence:
1 A request from the Ridgetown Skating club for a donation
Paul contacted Reinout, who indicated that the club donated $150 in 2019, $200 in 2022, nothing in 2023 or 2024
M/S Paul/Bob :That the club donate $250 to the Ridgetown Skating club Carried
RDHS sent a letter asking if we would continue with the $1000 for awards at their graduation ceremonies and if someone from the club will present them, on June 26th, at 7:00 pm in the Rudy Brown Centre
The answer will be yes, that answer and cheque will be delivered by Paul
Paul will pick up both cheques from Jeff and delivered

Paul Harris Awards;
Henny B presented Paul Harris pins to Carla Van Heeswijk and Elaine Bolohan
Carla volunteers for the IODE, is responsible for the Cenotaph, working Sundays for Rotary for their car show selling 50-50 tickets and for Kiwanis providing food at the agriculture fair when they were doing the gates, taking care of the food for 15 years at the Ridge Players for their dinners, helping with the Hwy 21 clean-up, all while still working at Pinnell’s
Elaine received her second Paul Harris Award, this with a sapphire, she looks after feral cats, helps coordinate 7 churches do the lunch/brunch for the soup kitchen, works with the Alter Guild at the Church of the Advent, treasurer of the ACW, and a former church board member, helping prepare some of the Rotary clubs suppers for 20 years, selling 50-50 tickets at the Rotary car show, always helped at the Ridge Players meals, as well helping at Vacation Bible School.

David has enjoyed photography since his first Brownie camera as a Christmas gift in 1957
When he moved to Canada from Scotland in 1968, he joined the Don Mills Camera Club
In 1980, after working at RCA as an electronics tech for 10 years, a career change seemed in order
On Labour Day, 1980, he started his own business as a Commercial Photographer, which he did full time until retirement in 2015
He had a cottage on Rose Beach Line and left his home in Elora to move full time to C-K
After many years as an amateur and 35 as a professional photographer, David is back taking pictures for fun, being most interested in Nature Photography and in particular birds
He showed us many pictures of birds, deer, coyotes and foxes, with many cubs being highlighted as well as owls
He used a long lenses which allows him to get great detail, up much closer
Eagles and peregrines in flight were amazing
He set up a system of three pools that fed a garden steam flowing slowly downhill, with a garden on both sides
It didn’t take long for the bids to start coming to say hello
David and a friend also built a small shelter that allows him to take wonderful photos of a wide range of birds by allowing him to hang his camera from above the window opening without disturbing the birds and animals
He showed us a 12 minute video of a truly exciting range of birds, most of which he could talk about
David certainly is passionate about his garden and his photography, as well as his trips around SWOnt to do take his many photographs

Henny as a Happy Buck noted that Hugh McVittie had written to her and said that the Ridgetown Club was founded on March 19th, 95 years ago
