Ridgetown Rotary Club Meeting on Wednesday, 2021-10-13.
On Wednesday, 2021-10-13, members of the Ridgetown Rotary club and their spouses joined members from the other 5 Rotary C-K clubs at the Sons of Kent Brewery Co. in Chatham to celebrate the “Pints for Polio” fundraising initiative. The Sons of Kent offered to host our clubs and to sell one of their craft beers in a can specifically be designed for this effort. This beer can be purchased at the Sons of Kent Brewing Co and other locations around C-K for $21 per six-pack. All proceeds will go to Rotary International for the fight to end polio. At present, there are cases in only Afghanistan and Pakistan. It was a very successful evening, with Ridgetown Rotarian Ron Bolohan entertaining as he always does with his wonderful accordion playing.
World Polio Day, as recognized by Rotary International, is on Oct. 24.
The “End Polio Now” cans, with the label designed by Pam Smith from Dresden, who also does much of the design work for the Mary Webb Centre for the Arts.
