1. Paul: The Gift - Saturday Nov. 22, 2025 - Update:
- Those picking up gifts were verified
- Kees handed out a map of who’s doing what area
- He also handed out signs for the windows of vehicles doing pickups
- David B will be at the Scout hut to help sort what is handed in and others to help would be good
2. Henny: Annual Christmas Party: Update
- RSVP - members & guests needed by Nov. 26
- Starts at 5:30 pm, meal at 6:15
- Paul will provide the game, with chocolate also provided
3. David B: Christmas Parade, December 13, 2025 - 1:00 pm
- Polio Decorated Rotary Car of Chatham Club with David B driving -
- Others wanting to join was verified
4. Paul: ROTARY ADVENTURE IN CITIZENSHIP 2026
- There was discussion about whether to send a student this year, considering the fee of $975 plus travel costs
- M/S: Paul/Jeff: That we do send a student this year. Carried
5. Paul: Children’s Treatment Centre funding
- Paul went over the letter from the CTC
- After some discussion, the following motion was made:
- M/S: Reinout/David B That $1000 from the Home Care Account be approved for donation to the Children’s Treatment Centre. Carried
- Paul is to contact the Treatment Centre to verify that a single cheque is acceptable
6. David B District 6380 Annual Conference, Chatham, May 1-3.
- Register before Dec 31, 2025 for “early-bird” fees
- On Saturday, May 2, those attending will be divided into groups of up to 50 and go by bus to Tilbury, Blenheim, Ridgetown or Dresden to do a 2-3 hour project
- So, what can “up to” 50 visiting Rotarians do as a service project in our community on Saturday, May 2?
- David handed out big sheets of paper to each table and asked them to brainstorm 3-4 ideas which were then shared and handed in to David B to correlate
- It was suggested that the group perhaps be split up into one or two groups
- Ideas included planting 40 trees at the T.R.E.E. trail, helping the Horticultural Society beautify downtown and/or Greenview Cemetery or going to The Village to interact with the residents
7. David B: Digital Literacy - Club Runner
- Members brought their “Smart” phones and David gave some instructions on using an app on the phones to access ClubRunner
Other Business
1. Kees/Henny: Foundation Dinner
We received a Certificate for all giving club for the Rotary foundation, also a certificate for Polio giving for more than 1500 $
Both were for Rotary Year 2024 2025
- There were about 140 Rotarians there, only 5 of whom were Canadians
- He passed around the program from the dinner and noted our tree planting was highlighted in it
Happy Bucks and 50-50 winner
- Bob was glad to be back, Henny because their daughter has her citizenship and is back to work and Judie glad o see Bob back at our meeting
- George won the 50-50
President David asked if there was “Anything for the good of Rotary?”
President David closed the meeting unofficially at approximately 8:10 pm
The next meeting is on Monday Dec 1st, 2025, our Christmas Party at the Anglican Parish Hall
The theme for the 25-26 Rotary year is “Unite for Good”
