Meeting Date: On Monday, Sept. 9, 2024, after the usual wonderful meal prepared by the ACW, Bob started this meeting by thanking the ladies in the kitchen.
Correspondence:
1. Thank you cards from RDHS students Brynn Lumley and Joel Mandling.
 
Program:  A business meeting.
Beatrice introduced her guest and explained that with her job, ahe was unable to attend our summer meetings.
Committees:  
1 BobDiscussion of Duties for 2024-25
  • Medical Equipment Leaders – Kees, Bob with need for a 3rd person
- Then there will be further discussion about the Medical Equipment
- Kees to pick a date to have a work bee to clean up and organize the storage area
  • Scrap metal leader – Kees and the club
- Wednesday and Thursday, several members will help Kees sort copper and aluminum
- Cathy Schipper has offered her garage for storing and sorting
  • Tree planting this fall -   Kees and the club
- Depending on the availability of trees, Nov. 2, 2024
- waiting for the price of the trees
- will need an auger to drill the holes to plant the trees.
  • Halloween Leaders – Henny, Kees, Bob together with the East Kent Celebrates committee
  • Corn stalks – Kees, for the town on Saturday, Sept. 28
- Stalks from Bill Long, with more info once the schedule is set     
  • Easter Egg Hunt – Brian and Henny
  • - The Independent stores donations of prizes
  • Pancake breakfast with the Scouts – David Brian to be our contact with the Scouts

  • Christmas Party – Leader Ben Van Heeswjk, Monday Dec. 2nd
  • Legion Pantry – New Project, with money in the budget to help Kim Scoyne buy supplies, such as the turkeys the club purchased last Christmas
 
 
  • Car Show, Special For the 150th Ridgetown Anniversary Celebration
- Brian, Judie, Paul and Joel offered to be on the committee
 - More volunteers and ideas for ways to make this car show special were asked for
  • World Polio Day, Oct. 24, 2024
- Does not have to be that day, could be at Pinnell’s sometime that week, perhaps for a few days
            Kees will make up a list of these projects and send it out to the members
 
New Business
1. Henny:  District Governor Shama Hatcher Visit on Oct. 7th
  • ,Since Dresden has a dinner meeting that night, it is hoped that the DG can come to a lunch meeting with soup and sandwiches
  • It would be at noon, with members coming 15-20 minutes before that to socialize with the DG
  • There will be a meeting with the DG after the lunch meeting is finished, to discuss our club and its plans for the year.

  • No Happy Bucks, Dave told a sad joke and Paul won the 50-50
 
 
Leader Bob asked if there was “Anything for the good of Rotary?”
Leader Bob closed the meeting at 7:40 pm.
The next meeting is on:  Sept. 23 with Bob Wilson’s speaker Adam Freeze about Scouts.
