Program: Henny Boeters, Guest: Gail Redmond, Founder and Director of Rondeau Shores Treatment Centre which is near Rondeau
Gail introduced her daughter Jayda Lortie, an Addiction Support Worker
Their facility has room for 4 women and 8 men
Gail gave some facts about addiction, describing each
i. Addiction is not a moral failing - it’s a chronic, treatable condition, ii. Recovery begins with connection, iii. Trauma often lies beneath addiction, iv. Change requires both structure and compassion, v. The body, mind, and spirit all need healing, vi. Recovery is built one day at a time and vii. The environment matters
Rondeau Shores Treatment Centre is a 14-day private pay residential addiction treatment center located on Rondeau Bay, Ontario
They combine 12-Step recovery, trauma-informed care, and holistic healing to support lasting recovery
Their Mission: to provide a safe, structured, and healing environment for individuals seeking recovery
Their Vision: A community where recovery is accessible, respected, and supported
They focus on physical, emotional and spiritual healing

It is set along the peaceful shores of Rondeau Bay, surrounded by forest and wildlife: Its connection to nature helps restore calm, balance, and perspective during recovery
Gail gave several reasons why people choose their program, including they embrace the spirituality of the 12-Step Program of Alcoholics Anonymous
Their program uses evidenced-based methods and compassionate care, focuses on long-term recovery and personal growth and gives support for mind, body, and spirit
They help adults seeking addiction recovery in a confidential and supportive environment welcoming union members, professionals, and individuals seeking private care
Addiction has a global impact, affecting individuals, families, workplaces, and communities
Accessible, compassionate treatment helps people rebuild their lives and relationships
Gail suggested that Rotary can help by Raising Awareness, Sponsoring a Participant, Through Community Partnerships and Program Enrichment Advocating for Hope

Every recovery story begins with a single step toward hope
Gail ended an excellent presentation by answering some good questions
She also signed 2 books for the town library

It was reasonably successful but not as much as last year
f. Home Hardware Night Market - Oct 24, 2025 - Kees
The booth was visible, but few if any really stopped to chat.
We raised about $30 for Donuts for Polio
g. Tree Planting - Nov 1, 2025 – Kees
24 Rotarians and Ridgetown Scouts planted 140 trees in about 90 minutes
Paul will write a short article to go with photos taken by Jeff from the Independent

$2 for Jays efforts, one for what a great club we have and $2 for our speakers tonight

President David closed the meeting unofficially at approximately 8:00 pm.
