May 15th Meeting at the Anglican Hall.
Pres Kees opened the meeting at 6:30 pm following the national anthem, grace and dinner.
1. Pres Kees: Thanked the ladies (ACW) in the Kitchen.

3. Pres Kees (as Sec Paul absent): Correspondence: letter from PSW Mary Murray advising re spaghetti dinner on May 26 at the Erie St United Church raising funds to purchase a wheelchair for client in need, donations are appreciated.
4. Pres Elect Ron: Next meeting is a business meeting (new board) – Executive all in place thanks to Jeff Geddes.
5. Treas Reinout: Gave out copies of Income and Expenses and Profit and Loss Statements for July1/22-May14/23 and provided a financial overview.
6. Pres Elect Ron: Summer Meetings: Car show will count as a meeting, also looking to make meetings fun. Suggestions: lawn bowling with Kiwanis mixing up the teams making it lighthearted; family picnic with the scouts at Camp Cataraqui; other fun activities…
Governor’s Visit: Meet the Governor 2023-24 email received from Tania Sharpe, reaching out to the sector Presidents Elect to see if there is an appetite to work collaboratively to welcome our District Governor Collyer Smith this fall. He wants his year to be fun and for us to work together and have joint meetings together with him.
7. Pres Kees: Scrap Metal last container was $2,166.38, air ducts took up a lot of room in the bin.
8. Pres Kees: Youth Service Awards given by International Fellowship of Scouting Rotarians” recognizing our participation and patronage of scouting. We now can go to their website.
9. Pres Kees: Peace Pole - IODE will give permission to place Peace Pole at the Cenotaph: Project for Rotary Clubs to install Peace Poles with message.
“May Peace Prevail on Earth” in the languages of their area written along the sides of the poles (i.e. English, French, Indigenous languages (From CBC article on google the southwestern Ontario Delaware Nation language is Lunaapeew). It is estimated there will be over 250,000 Peace Poles erected worldwide with one in every country in the world.
10. Pres Kees: District 6380 Day of Service Saturday June 10, 2023 to be held in Ann Arbour. Looking for members’ info for Rotary 6380 website (see attachment).
Pres Kees handed out the Official Conference Magazine & Program from the Joint Collaboration, Joint District Conference, Districts 6380 & 6400, May 5-7 2023 that he and Henny attended at Caesars Windsor. The Ridgetown Club is mentioned in Points of Pride 6380 on page 40: “This club operates a medical loan closet to help the community with walkers, hospital beds and more to those in need.”.
