Meeting Date:  Monday, Sept 14, 12:15 pm 2026, Anglican Parish Hall. After a wonderful dinner prepared by the ACW, Kees started the meeting by thanking the ladies in the kitchen.

Program:  Speaker: Lee Halsted introduced by Henny Boeters
  • Lee has been a Rotarian since 1977; early service with Canton Rotary, D6400
  • 45 year optometrist; former middle school teacher
  • Completed four Rotary eye care missions in Kenya (3) and Egypt (1)
  • Attended multiple Rotary International Conventions
  • It is an honor for he and Lois to be here at our meeting
  • He is very impressed with our club and everything that we do
  • He is glad that we are trying to start a Rotaract Club at the U of G Campus
  • The current RI president started as a Rotaract member before becoming a Rotarian
  • He said that the more you do for your community, the more you do for yourself
  • He mentioned that every district governor has to go through several sessions of training
  • Lee said that Rotarians are recognized all over the world and told a few stories about his experience with this: Rotary has no boundaries
  • He believes that Rotary is a team where no one sits on the sidelines
  • Lee is very impressed with all of the Ridgetown Rotary club’s projects
  • He mentioned that after WW1, the League of Nations used Rotary’s theme as theirs
  • He discussed the Oct. 24th Polio World of Peace day: he suggested that Ben make his donuts at Pinnell’s purple for that day
  • As he tours all of District 6380 he will be telling his clubs to work together as Ridgetown does with other C-K clubs

President Kees asked if there was “Anything for the good of Rotary?”
President Kees closed the meeting unofficially at approximately 1:26 pm
The next meeting is on: Monday, Sept. 28, 2026 at the Anglican Parish Hall
