Meeting Date:  2022-04-18, at the Anglican Hall.
President Jeff opened the meeting at 6:35 pm. After the national anthem, grace, and dinner, plus thanking the ACW for the dinner, Jeff started the meeting.
 
Program:
1. Jeff: Our condolences go out to Dave and Judie after the passing of Judie’s father.
2. Jeff:  Easter Egg Hunt.
  • Thanks to all members, their spouses and children who participated in the 44th Rotary Easter Egg Hunt
  • It was very much appreciated
  • The numbers were down a bit
  • We should mark our golden egg somehow to make it distinctive.
  • Perhaps some discussion re the number of egg hunts/candy or toy distributions
  • At present, there are 3: our 3-6 year-olds, Kiwanis’ 7-10, and the one at the Arena parking lot
3. Jeff:  Tonight’s meeting numbers.
  • We were well below our minimum dinner requirement numbers tonight
  • Several members had to attend to other meetings/obligations
4. Jeff:  Our Club’s Strategic Plan for 2022/23.
  • While Kees is not at our meeting, he wanted everyone to put their “Thinking Caps On” with respect to developing our club’s strategic plan which he will speak about at our next meeting on May 2nd
 
 
5. Reinout:  Club recent donations.
  • Reinout gave an update on the money, including the club’s $5000 donation, to Rotary International Foundation for the Ukrainian Disaster Relief Fund
  • We will get a receipt for our $5000 donation
 
Committees:
Other Business:
1.   Paul: Donated framed copy of the 4 Way Test.
  • In discussions with Sean McBrien, Paul was given a framed, under-glass copy of the 4-way test as a donation to the club
  • It belonged to Sean’s father, Bill McBrien, who was a Ridgetown Rotarian in the 80-90s
2. Jeff: Scholarships for RDHS.
  • In response to letters from the school, members agreed that we give our $1000 and $30 donations, for the Grades 9-12 and 7-8 classes
  • Paul will deliver the cheques to the school
3. Jeff: Canada Day T-shirts
  • The East Kent Celebrates will be selling 155-year t-shirts this year to mark Canada’s 155th birthday
  • In the past, the club has donated some to classes within Ridgetown schools
4. Jeff: The other meeting is in May 2022.
  • We will decide at the May 2nd meeting when to hold our other May meeting
 
President Jeff asked if there was “Anything for the good of Rotary?”
Jeff closed the meeting at 7:45 pm
