Meeting Date:  Monday, Oct. 20, 2025, at noon Anglican Parish Hall. After a wonderful lunch prepared by the ACW, David B started the meeting by thanking the ladies in the kitchen. David also mentioned that the birthday and anniversary cards are made by Henny Boeters.

Program:  Introduction of our D.6380 District Governor
i.   “Honouring our past, celebrating our future.”
a)  David B: Used a PowerPoint to show a roll call of our members & years of service going with most years to least
  • In 50+ years, Hugh McVittie, now an honorary member, for 63 years,
  • Murray Scoyne, an honorary member who served for 53 years
  •  Ben Van Heeswijk for 50 years
  • In 40+ years, Terry Youlton, served for 48 years
  • Reinout von Martels has served for 41 years
  • David Klatt has been a member for 40 years
  • For 30+ years, Bob Wilson has been a member for 36 years
  • Shirley Kennedy, now honorary, served for 35 years and was the first female to join, causing several members to quit
  • Brian Pasmore has been on the club for 29, going on 30 years
  • 20 years+ saw many new members. Blake Sheets is an honorary member after 25 years, Bill Long has been on for 22 years
  • Paul Brown and Jeff Geddes joined 21 years ago
  • Ron Bolohan 20 years
  • In the 10+ years, Kees Boeters has 17 years
  • Henny Boeters and Judie Wigcherink have been on the club for 11 years
  • Newer members are Joel Van De Hogen who joined 2+ years ago
  • Beatrice Gedion and David Brian joining 1+ year
  • Finally, new members are Tom Stewart and George Odura recently becoming club members
  • All told, the club has a total of 547 years’ service from those members, still on the club or honourary.
  • As they received their awards, we heard a wide range of stories about being on the Rotary Ridgetown Club
 
b)   Wendy Jones, DG gave a few words
  • Wendy mentioned how welcoming our club and all CK  clubs are when she visits
  • She is also impressed that our club members are staying members and not leaving
  • The Ridgetown club is what Rotary is all about and what Wendy talks about
  • There are positions open on the D. 6380 executive and on the various committees
  • She urged members who are interested in serving in some way to please do so
  • In thanking Wendy, David mentioned that he will be having his annual Jan.1polar ice dip into Lake Erie and urged Wendy to join us

a.   Donuts for Polio - Oct 24, 2025
  • At Pinnell’s Bakery:

b.   Home Hardware Night Market
  • Oct 24, 2025 - - 5:00 - 9:00 pm
  • $20 fee for table.
  • We will have an Information table + End Polio Donation Basket
  • Require 2 - 4 people to “staff” the desk
  • Task/To Do List was passed around
c. The Gift - Saturday Nov. 22, 2025 at noon
  • Pickups in our quadrat
  • We don’t really need pickup trucks as those who collect can take what they collect to the Scout Hut.
  • Those willing to collect was discussed and will be formalized at our next meeting
d. Tree Planting - Nov 1, 2025 - Saturday - 9:00 am
  • Who is available was discussed
  • Ridgetown 1st Scouts will help
  • 135 trees have been ordered
  • The hole digger is ordered
e.   Sparky Leonard has sent everyone an email about the District Conference in May, 2026
f.    David would like those interested in being on the Christmas Party committee to let him know
 
Happy Bucks and 50-50
  • A happy buck was put in for having a noon hour meeting so we can all watch the Blue Jays and David B won the 50-50 which he donated back to the club
 
President David asked if there was “Anything for the good of Rotary?”
President David closed the meeting unofficially at approximately 2:03 pm
The next meeting is on: Monday, Nov 3, 2025: Henny Boeters, Guest: Gail Redmond, Rondeau Shores Treatment Centre at the Anglican Parish Hall
