President Jeff opened the meeting at 7:00 pm.
Program:
1. Reinout: Presented the 2022-2023 Club Officers.
- President Kees Boeters, Past President Jeff Geddes, President-Elect Ron Bolohan, Treasurer Reinout von Martels, Secretary Paul Brown, Sergeant at Arms David Klatt
- Directors: 1 year, Brian Pasmore, Bob Wilson
2 year, Ben VanHeeswijk, Ron Bolohan
2. Reinout: Presented an update on existing Ridgetown Rotary Memberships.
- There was a discussion about honourary members. This was agreed upon:
- Present Honourary: Shirley Kennedy, Hugh McVittie, JP Van Haren
- New honourary: Blake Sheets (Blake can return whenever he wishes)
3. Reinout: Update on Finances in an effort to determine Community projects.
- We can anticipate $4500 from the scrap collection, plus there is money in our reserves
- Members are to think of projects the club could look at.
4. Jeff: Update on All Chatham Clubs meeting January 18th.
- Housekeeping re: goals and upcoming District events.
- The Governor’s visit on the 28th of February is still on the agenda but we will not do any planning until after the 7th of February.
5. Jeff: Rotary Bench was ordered 2 weeks ago.
- The template is being worked on for the bench
- Jeff will ok this template once it is done
6. David & Judy: Easter Egg Hunt.
- David and Judie would like to step away from this
- Two options: one having a member from the club take it over or perhaps the East Kent group could be responsible for it
- There was discussion about this
- Kees and Henny will bring this idea to the next East Kent meeting
- David and Judie were thanked for all their work
7. Kees: Renewal Fees for Club Runner of $332.22.
- Kees prepared a slide presentation for us
- Kees went over what the fees entail.
- We did approve this as an ongoing fee at a meeting last year
- The $332.22 is for 20 members (the minimum) @ $12.50/month, plus HST
- Kees uses the Magic Jack phone service for Rotary
- Jeff suggested that we all go on onto the District website and see what is available
- Kees will go over the Club Runner site at the next meeting
8. Kees: Prepared a Medical Equipment chart for members to copy and keep handy for any queries they might receive.
- Info about Home Health care Equipment Loans
- In the Year 2021 the following equipment was loaned to the community:
10 Hospital beds, 23 All kinds of walkers no wheel-2 wheel and 4 wheels, 8 Transfer benches, 7 Commodes, 13 Wheelchairs.
- Kees showed us the new form that Warren has produced for those who borrow equipment to fill out
- There was considerable discussion reliability insurance and what it covers and whether we have it and whether we need it. No decision was made at this time.
9. Jeff: Involvement of Ridgetown Rotary along with other Service Clubs in Ridgetown BIA.
- Jeff will go to see Charlie Mitton, who is on the BIA
- He suggested that a local business person join the BIA, if they agree, to act as a go-between for the club and the BIA
- There was also discussion about putting some kind of displays at the entrances to town at Christmas time.
10. Kees:
- The 2021-22 Rotary Theme Pins plus the Paul Harris Award pins have been received for distribution

President Jeff asked if there was “Anything for the good of Rotary?”
Jeff closed the meeting at 8:10 pm.
The next meeting is on 2022-02-07, at the Anglican Church hall.
