Meeting Date:  Monday, June 22, 2026, Anglican Parish Hall. After a wonderful dinner prepared by the ACW, David B started the meeting by thanking the ladies in the kitchen.

  • Ron gave a short talk about what is good about our club, and our need for a President-Elect
a.   President’s report
  • David B talked about taking students up Mt Kinaba, Sabah, Malaysia while teaching in Taiwan
  • The kids took up the challenges in climbing the mountain and offered help to each other
  • He said that this was like becoming the new president with no experience because of all the support he got throughout the year
b.   Kees:  He took over the presentation of the pins to each of the new executive

1.  David B:  Canada Day Parade -: June 26
  • Daid got the names of those helping
  • Setting up the wagon with the blow-up Rotary Sign and other decorations, at Yeck’s building where the medical equipment in stored, at 4:30
 
2. Bob and George: Car, Truck, Motorcycle and Tractor Show 
i. Raffle:  Bob W is looking after it
ii. Port-a-Johns - David B - booked
iii. RM car - David B - still waiting
iv. Vendors: Kettle corn - confirmed - will need power hookup
v. Posters & advertising - Kees & Paul
vi. Cleanup crew – Saturday, July 11, 9:00 am
vii. Car Show – sign-up sheet will be sent to members
viii. Paul will get coffee and Tim Bits for that day
ix.   Paul has pylons, 6 large, many small
 
3.  Paul:  July 1st. Independent Rotary Ad
  • A new ad will be placed in the Independent, thanks to David B and AI for the new wording
 
4.  Kees: Summer Meetings/field trips - 
  • The car show counts as the first meeting of 2026-27
  • Still looking for a location for the second  meeting
  • Sunday, Aug. 10: a visit from Mrs. Hellman, a director for Zone 2132, for C-K clubs
  • Details to follow
  • Thursday, August 27, a beach bbq at David B’s beach on Rose Beach Line
 
5.  David B:  RDHS Graduation, June 25at the Rudy Brown Building
  • presenting our awards to the various winners
 
50-50 and Happy Bucks
  • Happy Bucks:  Paul B for his grandson’s graduation, Kees B for his first meeting and Ron B for surviving quite a serious bleed
  • 50-50 winners were the ladies in the kitchen, who  were also invited to the Aug. 27 bbq
 
President David asked if there was “Anything for the good of Rotary?”
President David closed the meeting unofficially at approximately 8:05 am
The next meeting is The Car Show on Sunday, July 12 in Watson Grove Park
The theme for the 25-26 Rotary year is “Unite for Good”
